Congratulations on making the decision to continue your education! Whether you need a few refresher classes, your degree, or just an opportunity to learn, now is the time. We're very excited that you've chosen Newcastle University (UNC) to achieve your educational goals. You'll have dedicated support from our staff and faculty; you'll be able to apply what you learn in class today when you get to work tomorrow; and you'll reach your goals before you know it!

Admission Requirements

The following admission requirements apply for students residing in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Undergraduate Degree Requirements

To enter an associate or bachelor degree program, you must:

  • have earned a high school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent of the same from a regionally accredited or state licensed school with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Students who do not meet this requirement can arrange to take the GED through their state GED administrative office or search for the nearest GED testing center.
  • be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have visa status allowing study in the United States (if attending a campus in the U.S.).
  • demonstrate English proficiency (if you are from a country where English is not the official language).   
  • complete all required application forms, pay the $25 application fee, and submit documentation of high school completion and official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities.

Graduate Degree Requirements

To enter a master degree program, you must:

  • have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited (or candidate for accreditation) or approved nationally accredited college or university, or a comparable degree from a recognized institution outside the United States, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) as shown on the undergraduate degree-posted transcript.
  • be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have visa status allowing study in the United States (if attending a campus in the U.S.).
  • demonstrate English proficiency (if you are from a country where English is not the official language)
  • complete all required application forms, pay the $25 application fee, and submit an official undergraduate degree-posted transcript.

Important: Should you experience any technical issues completing the online application for admission, please do not complete a second online application. You can contact your Enrollment Counselor for assistance email: info@unc.ac , or complete and fax the Application Addendum to provide the information that needs to be added or changed.

Available finance plans allow students to select tuition payment options that meet their individual needs.

The UNC team is dedicated to helping students successfully meet their tuition responsibilities. You'll receive personal assistance from our Financial Counselors to help you understand all of your options. We'll also help you determine the best option for using your employer's tuition reimbursement benefits or military/veterans education benefits, and provide you with financial aid and scholarship resources.
